About Us
The BYU Varsity Club-Football Chapter is an association of former and current athletes and coaches. It has been established by players for players. Our purpose is set forth in our mission statement:
"Perpetuating the brotherhood of BYU football through social activities and service."
For several years, a BYU varsity club has existed in some form. It was originally initiated and sustained by the BYU Athletic Dept. Since then, we formed a committee comprised of former players to expand the club and take it to a higher level. Our charge is to bring together all generations of BYU football players and provide opportunities for reconnecting with each other and supporting the football program.
So far, our activities have included 1) supporting the spring gathering sponsored by Coach Mendenhall, 2) sponsoring our own fall gathering with a golf tournament and attendance at a home game, and 3) halftime gatherings at each home game. We have plans to do more as the club progresses. In addition to these activities, other valuable benefits are offered to all members.
In order to grow and sustain a robust varsity club, we needed a place to connect and a forum for communication. Hence, great effort and expense has gone into the development of this website. Through it, you can join the club, connect with other members, learn what you former teammates are up to, get information about upcoming events, and access other exclusive benefits (e.g., game tickets, game DVDs, etc.). To see all the benefits offered, click on the "become a member" tab.
We are well on our way, but we still welcome any input you have. You can click the "contact us" tab to find our contact information. Also, we are looking for everyone to provide input on the happenings in your lives and the lives of your former teammates. The information that we gather can be viewed under the "alumni news" tab. Also, under that tab you are able to submit information about you or other club members.
All former and current football players, coaches and support staff are invited to join. There is a free membership option and a fee membership option with expanded benefits. So, we hope you will join us. To do so, click on the "become a member" tab and sign up. Then, revisit this website frequently to stay in contact with other members and stay informed of all activities of the BYU Varsity Club.
